This is a portable cassette recorder from the 1980's, model RQ-212DS. It takes 4 AA batteries (not included) and when I put some in, it played a tape ok, but one of the hinges on the door is broken, so the door will flop open. (see picture) I did not check the recording functionality. This would be a good recorder to use for parts or to repair.
